Services » Rim Casting
Larger sized plastic components are produced by rapid injection
manufacture. This is a cold injection process that does not
require pre-heating of moulds or post curing of castings.
In addition, several moulds can be cast consecutively, leading
to shortened production times.
This process also tends to be less aggressive in terms of
mould wear so that one set of silicon tooling can yield up
to 80 parts. For larger numbers, resin tooling can be used,
making RIM an ideal solution for either rapid prototyping
or low volume production.
RIM casting
is also an ideal method for producing parts in a range of
silicone rubbers, particularly useful for applications where
high temperature capability (>200 ° C) is required.
